The Question

Why does the same melody evoke different emotions in different people?

A minor key is not inherently sad. A major key is not inherently happy.

Why It Resists Closure

Emotion is culturally encoded and individually filtered.

There is no universal emotional mapping from frequency to feeling. The same chord progression can be wedding music or funeral music depending on where you were born.
